Fraxinus angustifolia Raywood

The narrow-leaved ash is a deciduous tree that grows to about 12 m in height and 8 m in width. When young it has a conical shape, and later the crown spreads. Its shoots and branches are thin, and its leaves are strikingly narrow and dark green. Its autumn foliage color is striking, a brilliant purple-red. Its silvery or yellowish-white flowers are fragrant and bloom at the ends of the branches in May, in clusters 10-15 cm long. It likes a sunny spot and well-structured soil. Its water needs are high. Its main ornamental value is the stunning autumn color of its leaves, which takes on a brilliant purple-red shade. It can be beautiful as a specimen tree in larger gardens and residential parks, but it is also suitable as a street tree.
